Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I hope it’s because you would like to find out a little about me and not because of some random Google search for a Fox.
Secondly, put the kettle on, grab a biscuit (chocolate hobnob would be my contentious suggestion) and take a look around. I truly hope you like what you see.
I am a multi-genre International selling independent author.
Whilst I am just as comfortable writing contemporary fiction as science fiction, the one thing that remains a constant is my passion for a good story.
There is a good level of humour that runs through all my books. I am British, so the humour slants towards that self-deprecating and somewhat cynical attitude that most Brits somehow seem to inherit along with our constant need to complain and say sorry. For which, I can only apologise. So if you want an easy, fun, and above all enjoyable read that doesn’t take itself too seriously then come on in to the Fox World – you will be more than welcome.
As an independent author I write the stories I want to write, the length I want, and include the characters that appeal to me. Much of my writing goes against the industry norm – but that is kind of the point. If you want the same old formulaic read then pick anything from the Amazon top ten in your chosen genre. They will have been edited and squeezed into a neat little package that the publishing house “knows” will sell and earn them a percentage. Authors and editors write for the top ten, the mass market buy from the same top ten, so round and round the same old circus goes. If you want to read something a little different, choose an indie author.
My paperbacks are decent sized print on white paper even though the industry norm is tiny print on cream paper to maximise money for the publishing house. I may make less per paperback that way (authors get pennies if you are interested) but it makes for a better and more pleasing read for you, dear reader who has spent your hard earned on a book.
You may note I write in several genres. If you like one of my books, it’s likely you will enjoy another, even if it’s in a genre you would not normally read. With Kindle Unlimited, there isn’t really too much of a gamble to try something new.
I don’t take anything too seriously because one day the Universe will finally cool to absolute zero and nothing will exist but Council Tax and a slowly congealing soup of photons. It’s highly likely the Universe will go on ceasing to exist for eternity and in the words of the artist who turned himself into a symbol – that’s a mighty long time. Based on that, I tend to take a fairly laid-back attitude to life.
So, if one of my books has helped you through a few hours on a boring train journey or made you smile whilst sitting around a pool on holiday then that is genuinely the payback for me.
